First time joining Midjourney? Not a problem. We will provide you here a quick start guide to use it.

It's a text-to-image Generative AI tool, that creates images by using commands + prompts:. Before start creating, there are rules to follow made by the Midjourney Lab:

• Don't be a jerk.
• Don't use our tools to make images that could inflame, upset, or cause drama. That includes gore and adult content.
• Be respectful to other people and the team.

We are good to go: Firstly, create an account in midjourney.com by clicking Join Beta, or, use Midjourney Discord, or you can use in The Neighborhood Discord (we can share community-centered topics in here 😎).

1. From here, we will assume you've entered into The Neighborhood server:

2. Click on "🤖〛midjourney" channel, and you will need to use the chat text field to write commands.

3. The commands, as you can see above, start with "/" symbol, which opens a menu-selector. You can either keep writing "/imagine" or, click on the above command, which says "Create images with Midjourney".

The command now has filled the text area, and now, it's time for prompting.

4. Ok, let's continue with "prompting":

Write a task (prompt) for Midjourney. We got this example for Steve Jobs quote images. These are random images - Midjourney bot will get back with different images with the same prompt:

Prompt used:

Steve jobs quote, minimal thinking, inspiring

When the full command looks like this:

/imagine Steve jobs quote, minimal thinking, inspiring)

Once you press enter (intro), it could take up to 2 minutes to Midjourney create an image with whatever your prompt was 😛

And then it will show up a screen with the 4 image grid. You can Upscale or Create Variations, or a full iteration. For this, we believe Midjoruney explains this better in https://docs.midjourney.com/docs/quick-start:

Now you can keep iterating. As well, you can download the image creation by clicking "Web", and then right-click to Save the Image:
